If you love chocolate and you love your (optional, but still delicious without it) daily dose of The Mothers Blend, then you're going to LOVE this. It is quick, easy and exceptionally nourishing. You can serve this to your children, either a smaller dose of this serving or use the Children's Blend instead of the Mothers Blend.
Whilst foods like the collagen and egg yolk are completely optional, they add additional nourishment. Whilst the nourishment is essential in any human season, it is essential during pregnancy and breastfeeding. An egg yolk provides an incredible dose of choline, which is critical for anyones pregnancy journey and is just as important as folate.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups cold milk of choice (check the ingredients, and see this blog HERE for more information on milks).
- 3 tsps cacao powder
- Sweetener to taste with either maple syrup, coconut sugar, rapadura sugar, or monk fruit to taste.
- 1 tsp of The Mothers Blend or Children's Blend (start with this and add more if you don't mind more of a Foragey taste! This keeps it tasting precisely like a classic chocolate milk).
- Optional: 1 Tbsp Collagen
- Optional: 1 egg yolk!
- Ice to serve if needed.
Method:
1. Add all of the ingredients to your blender, and blend on medium to high until smooth and combined.
2. Pour into a cup and if it needs to be a little cooler, add a few cubes of ice.
3. If you or your child want seconds, I wouldn't say no, because this means more nourishment!
