It is most enjoyed mixed with water, pure juice or coconut water, or added to smoothies, mango nice-cream or homemade icy poles and gummies. 


When mixing with liquid, we recommend adding a small amount of water or juice first to create a smooth paste before gradually adding more liquid. This helps the powder fully disperse and blend beautifully, as we choose not to use synthetic emulsifiers. To create a milder flavour, simply dilute with additional water.

What form of magnesium is present in The Mango Magnesium? And do you have more information about the pure sea mineral powder you use?

The Mango Magnesium contains a sea mineral powder, which is pure dehydrated concentrated sea water. Magnesium found this way in nature is ionic, meaning it is a positively charged ion that is readily absorbed and used by the body. 

The reason the minerals remain ionic, even in this powder form, is because of the drying process used - no heat treating or irradiating is used. The minerals are spray dried, which means to blow air through a giant tunnel. In this process, there still remains what are called the "waters of hydration" which is water retained within the crystal structure of the mineral. This is what allows the minerals to remain in ionic form, and 100% soluble when added to water. 

So technically speaking, the form of magnesium would suggest magnesium chloride as this is what it is in the ocean. However, the level of magnesium listed on the jar is elemental, so the amount your body will be receiving in a serve. Due to the sea minerals naturally containing chloride, this allows the magnesium to be readily absorbed into cells in higher amounts, because chloride is used abundantly by the body as an electrolyte. 

For context, other more natural magnesium supplements that use marine magnesium, but they actually then isolate the magnesium from the sea water using calcium hydroxide to form magnesium hydroxide, derived from sea water. Hydroxide has been added to form magnesium hydroxide.  We haven’t removed/isolated the magnesium from the sea water, nor have we added chloride to make it magnesium chloride, we have taken it exactly how it is found in nature's sea water and dehydrated it in a way that allows all the minerals (magnesium, sodium, chloride, etc) to stay in their ionic form.

What is the best way to care for the product?

Foraged products are different.. so they need to be treated differently too! At Foraged For You we have no fillers, no excipients, no flow agents, no synthetic chemicals or isolates, and no space taken by anything that doesn't provide you nutritional value. Our philosophy is simple: if it doesn’t nourish the body, it doesn’t belong in the product.

This is why our products feel different, smell different, behave differently and yes, sometimes they can clump, settle, or change with temperature or moisture. That’s not a flaw… that’s real food.

When you remove excipients, you also remove the chemical buffers that protect products from moisture, heat, oxygen and light. So our blends are more alive, more sensitive, and more responsive to their environment - just like real food.

That’s why we always recommend:

  • Storing them in a cool, dry place especially if you live in a humid area
  • Sealing them properly after use.. like seriously tight!
  • Avoiding moisture (no wet spoons or fingers!), and keeping the moisture sachets in the jars
  • Not leaving them in hot cars or sunny windowsills
  • If you purchase a refill subscription pouch, always pour straight into a Foraged jar or airtight container after opening

Remember, you’re not handling a lab-made synthetic powder here. You’re handling a pure, concentrated food. That’s why our blends may look denser, darker, or more “rustic” and imperfect than what you’re used to.. because well, they are.

The red marine algae (Lithothamnion calcareum), after years of thriving in the mineral-rich Atlantic sea, naturally calcifies on the North Atlantic seabed.
