Whilst we decide to embrace indulging in Easter delights all year round, hopefully this recipe (and our previous much loved caramel slice!) makes your time extra special. Savour every bite without an ounce of guilt, ever, but especially on Easter!
Loaded Chocolate Bark
Ingredients
3/4 cup chocolate of your choice, or homemade prepared chocolate as per below.
Toppings of your choice, we chose:Â
1/4 cup freeze dried strawberriesÂ
1/4 cup pistachio nuts
2 Tbsp nut butter of choice (we chose almond butter)
1 tbsp bee pollen
1/4 cup chopped dried cranberries
Homemade chocolate
Ingredients
1/2 cup cacao butter
1/2 cup cacao powder
Sweetener to taste, we chose 2-3 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsps vanilla
Pinch of salt
OR, as mentioned above, 3/4 cup your choice of bought chocolate.
Method
1. Begin to melt down your chocolate on low heat in a little saucepan, or if you are making your own chocolate, in a little saucepan, add your cacao butter and bring the heat to low, stirring regularly. Both the cacao butter and bought chocolate won't take long, so stay close and don't let it burn!Â
2. Once it has melted, remove from the heat, add in the maple syrup, a pinch of salt, vanilla and stir.Â
3. Now stir in the cacao powder (sifting it through a sieve will really help here but it doesn't matter if not!). Stir liberally until fully combined and smooth.
4. Lay out some baking paper, and pour over the baking sheet.
5. Sprinkle with each individual topping, and pop it in the fridge or freezer until completely firm.
6. Remove from the fridge, slice with a knife, or break it up with your hands.
7. Serve chilled, and enjoy!
Happy Easter, we hope you enjoy these delicious nutritious treats, guilt free!
