Gluten free, grain free, dairy free wraps that will take a boring meal to something VERY exciting, particularly for those used to not eating wraps at all! Unlike supermarket wraps, these are free from all nasties and act as a beneficial prebiotic for your gut.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups cassava flour (we use the AKN Organics Brand)
- 1 tbsp psyllium husk powder
- 3/4 cup bone broth or filtered water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2-1 tsp baking soda
- A generous pinch of salt (if your broth didn't have any in it!)
Method
- Blend all the ingredients together, or combine well in a bowl, but it is best blended due to the psyllium husk.
- If you find the mix is too wet, add a little more flour (a tbsp at a time) until it forms a dough that you can roll well with your hands, and if it is too dry, add a little water (a tbsp at a time). The brand of cassava flour will force the consistency to vary.
- Lay out some baking paper and if needed, add a little flour to the sheet and roll out the dough with another sheet of baking paper on top, until it forms a flat circle (or whatever shape that suits you!). You can also use your hands to flatten the wrap, which we will often do to save time and if we aren't fussed with the shape!
- If you want a perfect circle, use a small bowl to cut out a circle.
- Heat up a pan to medium heat, and if it is not non stick, then place the entire baking paper down on the pan and once it has cooked, flip. The baking paper will prevent the wrap from sticking to the pan. Otherwise, you can add oil to your pan, and cook the wrap on there. Flip once cooked on one side, and then pile them up on a plate like you would pancakes!
Enjoy when your protein and other fillings are ready!
