Jessie Johns
Jessie’s approach to healing is centered around the education and empowerment of the client in understanding their own body’s unique wisdom and divine balance. She is a very knowledgeable and passionate health professional that has experience in both the Natural Medicine, Functional and Integrative Medicine spaces, working collaboratively with other health professionals and modalities to ensure the best outcome for her clients. She is particularly vehement about combining her loves of food-based medicine and Integrative Medicine - making traditional healing accessible despite the modern-day overwhelm.Â
Jessie studied for five and a half years, obtaining a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine and is soon embarking on the journey of attaining her Masters of Naturopathic Medicine. She is passionate about helping people understand how their body is functioning and the way each metabolic process is underpinned by nutrients. Jessie acknowledges the food we eat is much more than fuel, it is medicine. Food is central, it is nourishment, well-being, community, joy, an act of love and service. She also expresses that nutritional medicine is not about calories and meal plans, it is about understanding one’s unique set of nutritional requirements and optimizing this graciously, intuitively, sustainably, traditionally, and by using evidence-based practice.Â
Consistently meeting the body’s nutritional requirements with adequate wholefoods is fundamental in not only restoring good health, but to truly heal the body and thrive. Jessie believes by showing up with this deep reverence for the body is how we create space for healing. She is convinced that having a nutrient-dense diet should always be the first step and arguably the most important step on a healing journey. After facilitating many great clinical outcomes, she is firm on the fact you cannot out-supplement or out-exercise malnourishment, especially in a chronically dis-eased state.
As a holistic practitioner, she views the body as a whole, rather than in isolated systems and symptoms. Jessie utilizes pathology testing, functional testing, dietary analysis and holistic case assessment to explore ailments and understand every individual's baseline of health, with a keen interest in gut microbiome mapping. She uses this root-cause approach when assessing and supporting her clients, aiming to investigate, understand and explain the key drivers of physical and emotional ailments combined, in hope to resolve them once and for all. She enjoys working collaboratively with other practitioners to ensure all aspects of one's health are being addressed, particularly the mind and trauma. By booking with Jessie, you will be met with unwavering compassion, respect, patience and support on your healing journey.Â
